WHAT IS THE SAC (SMALL ARMS COMMITTEE )

The MLAIC Small Arms Committee has 6 members, including the head of the committee. It has two basic tasks:

  • 1st to answer the requests of the shooters about firearms and accessories
  • 2nd to establish a handbook for firearms scrutiny during international competitions

All requests shall be sent directly to the SAC: sac@mlaic.org. The request is first distributed to the members of the SAC to evaluate the problem and to gather historical proof to approve or reject the topic. There are two types of historical proofs the SAC accepts:

  • Picture of original pieces
  • Information based on peer reviewed books or other papers, publications matching the criteria of scientific research (includes footnotes, bibliography, preferably based on primary sources)

The SAC makes decision based on simple majority vote. The head of the SAC creates the preliminary report of the topic and forwards it to the MLAIC Committee. The MLAIC Committee approves or rejects the report. It is accepted, the report is uploaded to the MLAIC website.

On the request of a delegate the decision can be reviewed. In this case the protesters must support the case with historical proofs as mentioned previously. Upon reviewing the report, the same process shall be followed as the request was discussed previously.

Best regards,

The SAC team
